A website design and ongoing digital marketing for a national sidewalk repair and restoration company.

Project background.

We Fix Sidewalks is a Cleveland-based concrete contractor specializing in sidewalk repair and restoration. Pat Corte, the company’s owner, reached out in the fall of 2020 for help building a content marketing strategy. However, We Fix Sidewalks’ website could not host published content, nor did it position the company as an industry expert. As such, before starting any marketing strategy, I recommended redesigning the website.

The initial engagement to rebuild the website evolved into an ongoing collaboration to optimize content for SEO, design print and digital assets, implement and manage the company’s HubSpot portal, run paid advertising campaigns, and serve as a fractional CMO as We Fix Sidewalks experienced exponential growth.

My unique approach.

I focused on UI and UX best practices for the website redesign, which the previous website lacked. The old website was also not mobile-friendly and challenging to update. I also wanted to ensure the website’s scalability for future content additions as the company expanded its offerings beyond sidewalk grinding to concrete replacement and leveling. An overhauled information architecture helped with this, with long-form child pages for each of the company’s services to position We Fix Sidewalks as an authoritative and trustworthy expert.

After tackling the website, I implemented a structure for We Fix Sidewalks to manage its data through HubSpot. I integrated the HubSpot portal with the website to track form fills and the company’s accounting software to track lifecycle journeys and ROI.

What I executed.

The website stands out through its dark theme, utilizing the company’s logo as the color palette and the brand’s gold as the primary accent color. The website incorporates iconography and images alongside optimized copy to increase performance on Google Search. Regardless of a given user’s landing page, they have multiple opportunities to complete a contact form and see We Fix Sidewalks’ value proposition as an expert, cost-effective concrete contractor.

Beyond the website, I also designed numerous digital and print assets, from advertisements to line cards, to support traditional and digital marketing efforts. All assets have a unified look and cater to the company’s corporate and residential customer personas.

Leveraging HubSpot enables data-driven decisions on which channels and tactics work. The integration with the company’s accounting software also introduces opportunities to make customers evangelists through requests for Google Reviews.
